How it works

Two things go into the score. First, published averages of self-reported daily leisure screen time for that age bracket, modelled as a normal distribution — the number is placed on that curve. Second, a life-stage weighting: hours above the age average count for more at ages where the research says each hour does more damage. That means the under-fives and the over-sixties are judged harder than teenagers for exactly the same hours, which is the point. The dots are simulated peers, not real people.

FAQ

Should I count work screens? No — stick to phone and computer time you choose for yourself.

Is my data stored? Nothing is saved. Everything runs in your browser, and shared links only encode your age and hours.

Is this medical advice? Not at all. It's a for-fun comparison — talk to a professional if screen use is affecting your life.
